In this interview, Kevin from Elluminetpress.com tells us about his experience with Vset3D. They will be sharing their thoughts on how Vset3D has enabled them to produce professional-grade programs. RobSON will also highlight the features and advantages of Vset3D that have had the most significant impact on their work.
Can you present the structure in which you work? What are its missions?
I work within Elluminet Press Ltd, a publishing and media production company focused on educational content, technical books, online courses, and multimedia learning experiences. Our mission is to make complex technologies accessible through high-quality, clear, and engaging learning materials across print, digital, and video platforms.
Can you describe your function within this structure?
I serve as Writer, Director, and Producer. My role involves writing our computer books, developing technical scripts, overseeing video production, designing virtual sets, managing studio workflows, and ensuring the technical accuracy and educational quality of all content produced.
Where can we watch your programs or works?
Our programs and courses are distributed via our own digital learning platform, as well as third-party sites such as Udemy and institutional LMS integrations with colleges, and training centers. You can also find some content highlights on our website or follow on Instagram.

What criteria did you decide to choose Vset3D?
We selected Vset3D based on its real-time rendering capabilities, support for NDI, compatibility with professional-grade capture cards (eg Blackmagic DeckLink), and its ability to integrate with our live production pipeline. Its balance of visual quality, control, and system efficiency was ideal for our educational studio use case.
What do you like most about Vset3D?
The real-time control and animation capabilities paired with camera movement simulation are incredibly powerful. It enables us to deliver dynamic virtual presentations that rival physical studios without the overhead
What is the single feature that exceeded your expectations?
The seamless integration with realistic looking sets and live green screen chroma keying exceeded our expectations. It drastically reduced post-production effort and allowed for immediate live compositing even with demanding scenes. I was amazed at what can be done with this software.
What was your biggest problem solved by Vset3D?
Vset3D allowed us to replace expensive, inflexible and often limited physical sets with customizable virtual environments. It solved the logistical and budgetary challenges of working in limited space while still achieving broadcast-quality visuals. We can now build full virtual sets, use CGI, 3D models and seamlessly integrate them with our videos.
What types of videos do you produce with Vset3D? Weather, news, entertainment…?
Primarily, we produce technical training, educational content, courses, and explainer videos.
HD or 4K?
Currently, we operate in Full HD (1080p) due to performance balance and streaming requirements, though our pipeline is 4K-capable and scalable depending on project needs.
Can you describe your setup? Hardware, software, studio, camera…
The setup consists of a professional-grade live production environment centered around the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K, which outputs a clean SDI signal to a Blackmagic DeckLink Mini Recorder installed in a high-performance workstation featuring dual Intel Xeon processors, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 3090 GPU. Audio is captured using a shotgun microphone routed through an M-Audio interface for high-quality sound input. The production takes place in a custom-built greenscreen studio, where real-time chroma keying and virtual scene compositing are handled by VSet3D.

The final composited output is recorded using OBS Studio, which also enables flexibility for streaming or additional visual layering. A teleprompter is integrated into the workflow to support scripted or presenter-led content delivery.
When you record your programs, are you working live or with pre-recorded green screen files?
We use a live green screen feed directly from the camera into Vset3D. The live video is composited in real time allowing us to interact with the virtual environment instantly and produce live or live-to-tape recordings with minimal post-production.
The Vset3D Control Panel allows you to control animations and camera switching. How do you interact with it, keyboard or network commands from another device?
We control Vset3D via a combination of keyboard shortcuts and network commands from a custom Python script, allowing remote camera switching and transitions. We also use streamdeck and companion to send commands over TCP to Vset3D to vision switch live during recording.
When using Vset3D did you need to request VSet3D support by email? Did you get any relevant answers?
Yes, we contacted support during setup. The responses were detailed, helpful and timely. The support team showed technical understanding and provided practical solutions. Overall very helpful.
How was your overall experience with Vset3D?
Overall, very positive. It’s a robust and flexible solution for virtual production, especially for creating engaging educational content. It strikes a solid balance between ease of use and technical depth, allowing customization without needing a full Unreal or Unity setup.
And finally, if someone called you and asked if they should do business with Vset3D, what would you say?
Absolutely—especially if you’re looking to elevate your video production with professional-grade virtual studios without investing in high-end game engines or physical set construction. Vset3D is a good investment for training, live streaming, and virtual studio broadcasting.
